Timbul Thomas Lubis

Timbul Thomas Lubis

Mr. Timbul Thomas Lubis is a Founding Partner at LGS. He obtained his Indonesian law degree from the University of Indonesia in 1974, and was admitted to the Bar in 1977. He obtained his LL.M. from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA in 1981. Known as a very strong practitioner, he heads LGS’ disputes practice. He specializes in commercial transactions and Company Law, and has expertise in Labour, Property, and Real Estate Law matters. He has authored several works on Company Law, financing, and international arbitration, which have been published here and abroad. Mr. Lubis also has extensive experience in Maritime Law and international arbitration.

Mohamed Idwan Ganie

Mohamed Idwan Ganie

Dr. M. Idwan Ganie is a Founding Partner at LGS. He obtained his Indonesian law degree from the University of Indonesia in 1977, and holds a Ph.D. in law from the University of Hamburg. Dr. Ganie specializes in commercial transactions and disputes, corporate governance, and fact-finding matters. He is a member of the Indonesian Bar, and a licensed capital market lawyer. He is the Chairman of the Indonesian Anti-Trust Lawyers Association and the author of “Mergers and Acquisitions Under Indonesian Law”. In 2018, Dr. Ganie was named External Counsel of the Year, voted entirely by in-house counsels and corporate decision-makers throughout Asia.

Arief Tarunakarya Surowidjojo

Arief Tarunakarya Surowidjojo

Mr. Arief T. Surowidjojo is a Founding Partner at LGS. He obtained his Indonesian law degree from the University of Indonesia in 1977, and obtained his LL.M. from the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. Mr. Surowidjojo is a member of the Indonesian Bar and has in-depth experience in handling complex investments, general corporate practices, reorganization, corporate finance, and dispute resolution for a wide range of international and Indonesian clients, including the Government of Republic of Indonesia. For the last two decades, Mr. Surowidjojo has been focusing his practice in the areas of good governance, natural resources and environmental issues, and dispute resolution for big businesses in Indonesia. Mr. Surowidjojo has authored several books focusing on Indonesian law reform efforts.

Harjon Sinaga

Mr. Harjon Sinaga obtained his Indonesian law degree from the University of North Sumatra in 1993. He is a member of the Indonesian Bar with over 20 years of experience in litigation, and a seasoned litigation practitioner in handling complex disputes, particularly in civil and commercial litigation, anti-trust, court supervision of debt restructuring, and bankruptcy. Mr. Sinaga has expertise in general corporate matters and has helped numerous domestic and international clients on various legal issues drawing from effective litigation strategies. He stands among leading litigation practitioners according to top legal surveys with recognition by international law journals. He has authored a book on competition law, acknowledged as a highly recommended book in its field.

Rofik Sungkar

Rofik Sungkar

Mr. Rofik Sungkar obtained his Indonesian law degree from the University of Indonesia. Prior to joining LGS, Mr. Sungkar worked at the Jakarta Legal Aid Foundation, providing legal assistance to economically disadvantaged or suppressed citizens. Mr. Sungkar has expertise in corporate and commercial litigation, debt restructuring, and general corporate law matters. He holds extensive experience in representing various international companies with reputable records, as well as financial institutions, in high profile commercial litigation cases. He has been a member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2015.

Dini Retnoningsih

Dini Retnoningsih

Ms. Dini Retnoningsih obtained her Indonesian law degree from the University of Indonesia. Ms. Retnoningsih has practiced law for over a decade with a strong general corporate background and a focus in the areas of commercial and corporate law. She has in-depth experience in handling commercial transactions, compliance, corporate and project finance, investment, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and reorganization, capital markets, banking and finance, and employment matters. She was involved in numerous major corporate and commercial transactions, and regularly provides day-to-day legal advice to numerous foreign and Indonesian clients. She also frequently contributes to national and international publications on a number of areas of law covering a wide range of Indonesian legal issues.

Mochamad Fajar Syamsualdi

Mochamad Fajar Syamsualdi

Mr. Mochamad Fajar Syamsualdi (Didi) graduated from Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia and obtained LLM in law and economics from Queen Mary University of London. He is a member of the Indonesian Bar and has worked extensively on various industries in numerous types of multinational transactions. He represents wide range of clients and has considerable experience in merger and acquisition, general corporate, corporate finance, capital markets, projects and natural resources work in Indonesia and has special interest in Islamic finance.
